I have a couple of private loans that need to consolidate what can someone please tell me of any company can use to consolidate loans. Please, I only well known companies as Chase, Citibank, etc.

What are my options for a student loan in default?

I lost my job in May and since then have failed my loans Student (after consolidation and postponement thereof). My amount of loan origination (at the time of consolidation) was slightly less $ 32,000, of whom have paid over $ 17,000 in payments. Since the default now owe almost $ 50,000 and I am being harassed and threatened by a collection agency. How may be legal / possible? I feel that I borrowed from a lender instead of the government. Any advice / help would be appreciated.

You are correct in comparison of Sallie Mae as a lender to a mafia. You have no rights of consumers with student loans: Do not prescribe … can not be discharged in bankruptcy.
